A
MESSAGE FROM THE CANTON OFFICE MANAGING PARTNER
Welcome to Buckingham Canton's local website. Buckingham,
Doolittle & Burroughs, LLP has offices
located throughout Ohio and in Boca Raton and West Palm
Beach, Florida. The firm was founded in Akron in 1913 and
the Canton office was established in 1984. Today
we have 35 attorneys based in our Canton office, making it
the second largest office of the law firm.
Learn more about Buckingham Canton's
key areas of
practice and our capabilities within those areas, and
see what the attorneys and staff have been doing in the
Canton community.
In 2006 the Massillon firm of Stergios & Kurtzman joined
Buckingham. We are pleased to have added attorneys
Paul
J. Stergios,
John
L. Kurtzman, and
J.
Fred Stergios as part of our Canton team.
Paul Stergios and John Kurtzman are members of our firm’s
Trusts & Estates Practice Group. Paul Stergios has also
served as Special Counsel to the Attorney General of Ohio
since 1995. John Kurtzman is Chief Counsel for the Stark
County Prosecutor, has previously been a member of the Board
of Commissioners on Character and Fitness of the Supreme
Court of Ohio, and has served as a member of the Ohio
Supreme Court Board of Bar Examiners. Fred Stergios is a
member of our
Litigation Practice Group and has previously served as
Special Counsel for the Stark County Prosecutor’s Office and
also as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of
Investigation.
We also welcomed
Amanda Walls as a new associate in the
Employment & Workers’ Compensation Practice Group. She
joined us after passing the Ohio Bar in February 2006.
Last year saw the completion of our 7,000-square-foot
expansion, which we now occupy completely. In 2007, we will
be reconfiguring our existing space to create additional
attorney offices for future growth.
Certified Title, the firm’s title insurance agency, had
another strong year of production under the leadership of
Rick
Lolli. Certified Title is located in our Canton office
but serves the entire firm’s real estate needs with a
particular focus on larger commercial transactions.
Our firm’s Collection Group, which is led and managed by
Bill
Emley, is also resident in our Canton office. This
department allows us to assist clients with the management
and collection of their receivables and commercial accounts.
Our professional and administrative staff at Buckingham
Canton is directly involved in leadership roles in most of
our region’s civic, charitable, political and community
boards and related organizations. Most recently, we have
focused on organizations and initiatives working to develop
the long-term growth and vitality of our market. Such
partnering, we believe, is essential to retain and attract
the best and brightest people to our area.
We look forward to continuing to serve our clients and our
community.
